How to Optimize Your LinkedIn and Auto-Apply to Jobs With Claude for Chrome

By Zaid Koradia·Updated Jul 21, 2026· 13 min read

Claude for Chrome is Anthropic's browser extension that sees and acts in your browser. With two prompts it rewrites your whole LinkedIn profile so recruiters find you, then applies to the best-matching jobs for you on its own while you watch and can stop it anytime. It needs a paid Claude plan, Pro from $20 a month.

You build: A LinkedIn profile rewritten to rank in recruiter searches, plus Claude applying to the best-matching jobs for you on its own while you watch·25 min·beginner

Job hunting breaks people. You fix your profile for hours, get no replies, then fill the same application a hundred times, one box at a time. It is slow, and it is lonely.

My AI content has crossed over ten million views across Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. I have built automations, agents, apps, websites, and more with AI for myself and for real businesses. Now I teach AI to millions of people across several countries, so they get ahead in the AI race. So I put Claude inside my browser and let it do both jobs. It rewrote my LinkedIn to get found, then it applied to real jobs for me while I watched.

These are my two exact prompts, the real ones. You will not find them written anywhere else, only here on FabRich. One fixes your profile so recruiters find you. The other applies to the best jobs for you on its own. If any step looks technical, relax, I walk you through every click.

What Claude for Chrome actually is

Claude for Chrome is Anthropic's official browser extension. It sees the page you are on and clicks, types, and fills forms like you would, but faster. You stay and watch the whole time, and you can stop it with one word.

Claude for Chrome (the official page)

One honest thing up front, so you are not surprised. This is not free. Claude for Chrome comes with a paid Claude plan, Pro from $20 a month, on Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise. The extension installs free, but you sign in with a paid plan to use it.

Get it from one place only, the official Anthropic listing on the Chrome Web Store. Search the store for Claude AI for Chrome, published by Anthropic, and add it. Ignore any copycat extension, those are the ones that get you in trouble.

Step 1: Install the extension and open LinkedIn

Open Chrome, add the official Claude for Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store, and sign in with your paid Claude account. Then open your LinkedIn in a normal tab, and open the Claude panel next to it.

Claude plans and current prices

You should now see the Claude panel sitting beside your LinkedIn page. That is the whole setup. From here you just paste a prompt and watch it work.

Step 2: Paste prompt one to rewrite your profile

This first prompt reads your real profile, understands who you are and the job you want, then rewrites every section so recruiters find you and want to reply. It shows you each change before it makes it, so you stay in control.

Prompt 1: optimize my LinkedIn profile (paste into the Claude for Chrome panel, on your profile page)
You are my LinkedIn profile strategist, and you can see and act in my browser. I am on my own LinkedIn profile now. Your job is to rewrite every part of it so recruiters and LinkedIn search find me, and so a real person wants to reply. Work with me, not around me.

RULES (read all first):
- Use ONLY my real experience. Never invent a job, a number, a skill, or a result.
- Show me every rewritten section and wait for my yes before you type it into the field.
- Grade 5 to 7 English. Short lines. First person. Warm and specific.
- No buzzwords: no "results-driven", "passionate", "detail-oriented", "unlock", "leverage", "seamless", "synergy". No em dashes.
- Never claim I am "guaranteed" or "unrejectable". Optimize me to rank and to read strong, honestly.

STEP 1 - READ ME FIRST. Read my whole profile from the page: my name, headline, About, every experience and its bullet points, education, skills, featured, and my custom URL. Work out the role I seem to want and my real strengths. Do not guess in silence.

STEP 2 - ASK ME ONCE, then wait. In one short message ask:
1. The exact role or title you want next.
2. Your top 3 job keywords a recruiter would type to find you.
3. Your location, and are you open to remote.
4. Your 2 or 3 biggest real wins, with numbers if you have them.
Never make up an answer. If I say "you decide", use what is already on my profile.

STEP 3 - REWRITE each section, show me, and only edit after I say yes:
- HEADLINE: lead with my target role and 2 to 3 real keywords recruiters search, then one proof or specialty. Keep it under 220 characters. This is the single biggest thing LinkedIn search ranks on.
- ABOUT: the first two lines are the hook, because they show before "see more". Then who I help, how, my real proof, and my keywords woven in naturally. Short lines. End with a clear invite, like "open to [role] roles, message me".
- EXPERIENCE: rewrite each role so every bullet starts with the result and a number, with my keywords used naturally.
- SKILLS: suggest the skills that match my target role, since recruiter search reads skills too, and tell me which 3 to pin.
- FEATURED and URL: suggest one strong thing to feature, and a clean custom URL if mine is messy.

STEP 4 - SEARCH TUNING. Put my real target keywords in the headline, About, skills, and experience, naturally, never stuffed. Tell me in one line why each keyword earns its place.

STEP 5 - WHEN DONE. Show me a short before and after for the headline and About so I can see the lift, and remind me to save each section. Ask if I want you to move on to applying for jobs.

Stop and look at your profile now. Same real you, but written to get found and to make a recruiter want to reply. You did not stare at a blank box once. You approved each line, and Claude typed it in.

Step 3: Paste prompt two to apply for you

Now the big one. This prompt turns Claude into your job-application agent. It finds the best-matching jobs and applies to them, one after another, on its own. You sit and watch. You do not click anything, you just supervise, and you stop it the moment anything looks wrong.

Prompt 2: apply to the best jobs for me, on your own (paste into the Claude for Chrome panel, on LinkedIn Jobs)
You are my job-application agent, and you can see and act in my browser. You apply to LinkedIn jobs for me while I watch. You work on your own, but I am supervising and can stop you at any second.

RULES (read all first):
- Apply ONLY to jobs that genuinely fit me. Read each job before you apply.
- Never fabricate experience, a number, or an answer to an application question.
- If a question needs an answer you do not have, PAUSE and ask me. Do not guess.
- If a job sends you off LinkedIn to an outside site, or asks for a login, a payment, or a long custom form, PAUSE and ask me before you continue.
- Never apply to the same job twice. Never accept an offer or negotiate. That is mine.
- Keep going on your own through the list, but obey "stop" or "skip" the instant I say it.
- No em dashes in anything you write for me.

STEP 1 - SET ME UP. Read my profile, then ask me once, in one message, and wait:
1. Your target role or titles, and seniority.
2. Location, and are you open to remote.
3. Your must-haves and your deal-breakers.
4. Upload or point me to your resume file.
5. Your standard answers I will reuse: years of experience, work authorization, notice period, and salary range.
Save these as my "apply profile" and reuse them for every job. Never invent one.

STEP 2 - FIND THE BEST JOBS. Open LinkedIn Jobs and search my target role. Filter to the strongest matches by relevance, how recent they are, and my must-haves. Read each listing, and build a short list of real fits only. Skip anything that does not match, and tell me why in one line.

STEP 3 - APPLY, ONE AT A TIME, ON YOUR OWN:
- Prefer Easy Apply. Fill every field from my apply profile and attach my resume.
- Answer the standard questions from my saved answers. If a new question needs a real answer I have not given, PAUSE and ask me.
- After each application, tell me in one line: company, role, and done or paused, then move to the next job on your own.
- Keep a running list of every job you applied to, so I have a record at the end.

STEP 4 - KEEP GOING. Work down the list without waiting for me between jobs. I am watching. I will say "stop", "skip this one", or "slow down", and you do it at once.

STEP 5 - WHEN I STOP YOU or the list is done. Show me the full list of what you applied to, and flag any application you paused so I can finish it myself.

The part most demos skip: Claude is acting as you here, so you stay and watch, and you can stop it any second. It is not a background bot firing 500 blind applications while you sleep, and you would not want that. LinkedIn limits that kind of spam and it gets accounts restricted. This applies to real matches, one at a time, and pauses whenever it is unsure. Ignore the shady auto-apply bots that blast every listing and get people banned.

How you use it from now on

This is your new normal. Open LinkedIn, open the Claude panel, paste prompt two, and let it work through fresh jobs while you have your coffee. When a real question comes up, it asks you, you answer once, and it saves that answer for next time.

Run the profile prompt once a month to keep your headline and About sharp as your goals change. Run the apply prompt whenever you want to send a batch. You are not filling forms anymore, you are directing an agent that never gets tired.

If it breaks

  • The extension will not run: you are on the free plan. Claude for Chrome needs a paid plan, Pro from $20 a month. Sign in with a paid account.
  • It paused and asked you something: that is correct, not a bug. It hit a question or an outside site it should not guess on. Answer once, and it continues and remembers.
  • It tried to edit the wrong field: tell it to stop, then point it at the right section by name. It reads the page, so plain words work.
  • A job sent it off LinkedIn: it should pause there. Finish those ones yourself, or tell it to skip external applications.
  • It typed something you would not say: you approve every profile change before it saves, so say no and give it your real wording.
Is Claude for Chrome free?
No. The extension installs free from the Chrome Web Store, but you use it by signing in with a paid Claude plan, Pro from $20 a month. Anyone saying it is fully free is wrong.
Does it really apply on its own?
Yes. It finds matching jobs, fills Easy Apply, and moves to the next one by itself. You watch and can stop it anytime. It pauses on any question it does not have your answer for, instead of guessing.
Will it lie on my applications?
No, and the prompt forbids it. It uses only your real resume and the answers you give it. If a question needs an answer it does not have, it stops and asks you.
Is this against LinkedIn's rules?
You are supervising a browser assistant that acts as you, not a hidden bot. Keep it that way: watch it, apply to real matches, and do not blast every listing. Mass unattended spam is what LinkedIn restricts and it can limit your account.
How does it get me found by recruiters?
Prompt one puts your real target keywords in your headline, About, skills, and experience, which is what LinkedIn search and recruiters read. It also rewrites your hook so a real person wants to reply.
Do I have to watch the whole time?
Yes, that is the point and the safe way. You stay present, it does the clicking, and you stop it if anything looks off. It is doing the boring part, not making decisions for you.
This still feels too advanced. What do I do?
Install the extension, sign in with a paid plan, open LinkedIn, and paste my prompts one at a time. They tell Claude exactly what to do and ask you simple questions along the way.
